Good app

Very well written, designed, very fast. Gets the job done. Lacks OCR but is not a massive loss bc it excels in all other areas

Great

This dictionary has been my favorite tool for learning Mandarin Chinese for over a year now! It has lots of vocabulary.

Cant see in App Store on iPhone, only iPad

Good app with great word selection. Originally had on my iPhone 3GS. But nowhere to be found in App Store on my iPhone 5 running iOS 7.1.2.

Very useful

I can rely on it any time and its transitions are very accurate with the OCR and the reader .its a really good app I recommend it

Excellent

I love this app. Its one of the best quick dictionaries out there. I eventually purchased the flash card trainer, and I use it all the time now to study! Disadvantage- it doesnt give sentence examples. Advantages- its neat and straightforward. Love love love!

Favorite app.

This is easily one of the best apps Ive ever downloaded. The dictionary is easy to search and gives you so many extras I have not found in other dictionaries, such as idioms and colloquialisms/figures of speech. The reader is an added bonus, and it is able to recognize multi-character words and phrases to help you understand context within a sentence or paragraph better. You can color code pinyin and/or characters to highlight tones so your pronunciation improves. Really a fabulous tool to help you learn or expand your Chinese. I wish I had other dictionaries as useful as this one.

Almost perfect

This app has a great set of features, but I would like to see a couple of features that are present in the DianHua added to this app, i.e., A list of related terms below the selected term and the ability to freeze frame jumbo sized flash card characters so that you can draw on them. With these additions I would definitely get the paid version.

Great resource

Awesome dictionary app for Chinese. It makes great use of the underlying database and is loaded with tons of features. Use it all the time. The developer is also really good with app support and updates. One feature I would like to see added is the ability to add custom entries. Though the underlying databases are fairly good, there are words, especially technical vocabulary, in use in modern Chinese which are missing. Being able to add these to the app as custom entries would be great, especially for those using the trainer functionality.

Great App!!

Awesome, awesome, awesome! Translation, audio, classic, and simplified! What else?

BEST Chinese-English electronic dictionary out there!

With this version of the KTdict I have all but thrown away my fancy Besta Chinese-English electronic dictionary! This programme enables me to find the words I need absolutely on the fly. The breadth of the vocabulary includes not only geographic and personal names, but also proverbs, phrases, slang and a whole host of other bits and pieces of Chinese culture you never knew you needed till now. The new feature that allows you to surf for a particular character in a multi-character word/phrase is a god send. The ONLY way this programme could be brought to perfection would be if it would 1) show you the stroke order (because sometimes finding the word depends on the order in which you draw the character) 2) pronounce it out loud. But even without these things, it is AB-FAB!! Danke dir sehr schön, Klaus!

Best Chinese app

I have been waiting for an offline accessible dictionary which has the pinyin and characters. What is even better is you can put entire sentences in, not just individual words. It is the offline MDBG I have wanted for years. Thank you! I will buy the upgrade when I get off work; this app is wonderful.

Gender me

Text not readable so why coment on something I cannot read!

For Andriod too please?

This app is perfect for my Chinese class. it works great on my iPad, but recently I got a new phone (Samsung Galaxy s5) and this app wasnt in the play store which made me cringe. Hope this app is for Andriod or play store soon. Thank you for this great app by the way.

So useful!

I recommend the extension for anyone taking a chinese language class. The flashcards come in handy flushing out your vocab.

Has everything

Im using for 2 years this app, at least half an hour every day. Yesterday was the first case I tiped in a Chinese word and KTDict didnt have it. Just contains really EVERYTHING. Slang, 成语, ... All of my friends use Pleco, but this is sooo much better.

Best Chinese dictionary app

Ive used a lot of Chinese dictionary apps this is by far the best. Its got the most functions the easiest to use its perfect for learning and every day usage.

Great for non tonal pinyin input

If I hear someone speaking Chinese but am not sure of the tone this is a great tool. I use youdao for sentence translation but this is great for learning pronunciation.

Great App

I would give this app five starts but its missing vocabulary words categories. For example, it doesnt list if the vocabulary word is a "Noun", "Verb" , " conjunction" etc. Also there arent any example sentences to see the usage; this app is only good when in a conversation and dont understand a word. One can quickly check the word to understand what the other side just said.
